Russians are back in fashion, perhaps this is the most relevant trend of the current year.

It is not surprising, because the rich Russian culture is an inexhaustible source of creative inspiration and fashion trends. So, more than a year ago, fashion week in Paris turned into a real Russian fairy tale. Where the famous fashion house Valentino presented its collection in the style of the famous Gzhel.

Indescribable patterns and light airy images impress not only with the beauty of the native heritage, but also with the inexhaustible fantasy and subtle veil of the Russian spring. Gzhel painting is applied only by hand, so each creation of the Gzhel master is a real work of art. Whose main motive is to bring people together.

Now Gzhel is not only the original Russian traditions and newfangled ready-to-wear trends, but also an extraordinary holiday. Every couple wants to come up with something extraordinary for their special day. The festive atmosphere, dear, close people and magical surroundings - everything is designed to emphasize the solemnity of the moment.

The fabulous wedding ceremony in Gzhel style is unique, but will be understood by everyone, thanks to its universal language of nobility and beauty. The destinies of the spouses converge in one line, just as white and shades of blue are combined in a wedding dress, as if sea and sky meet on the horizon. Gzhel patterns emphasize the nobility and airiness of the image of the bride. Embodying the versatility of the female understanding of beauty.

The groom's suit is made in blue imperial colors, and the image, stylized as Gzhel, is complemented by a bow tie. Ideally combined with each other, the images of the newlyweds create such a harmony that is so pleasing to the eye.

Gzhel themed ceremony is an unforgettable cultural journey. And like any fabulous trip, the wedding celebration begins with an invitation decorated in blue colors - symbolizing the divine sacrament.

In the cultures of different countries, the wedding occupies a special place, so there are many different traditions. So, in Greek culture, the bride must wear something old, something new, and something borrowed. As an indicator that it is important to remember the past, but look to the future. According to Russian cultural tradition, the groom can see the bride for the first time in all her wedding splendor only during the ceremony. Then the moment of the wedding becomes the most exciting and memorable in the life of the newlyweds. Luxurious dress and irresistible multiply the general delight.

In addition, a lot of pleasant emotions are given by details and various accessories. All recognizable nesting dolls painted under Gzhel will be a great compliment for guests. Gzhel motifs are ideal for decorating the hall. Tablecloths, napkins, candlesticks, as well as dishes and Greek amphoras with countless bluish patterns, in the language of art, loudly speak of aristocracy and endless love.

The bride's preparations were held in the Suite of the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Laconic interiors successfully emphasized the style of the wedding, which was based on two colors: blue and white - the colors that have been used to decorate dishes in Rus' since ancient times. From time immemorial Gzhel appreciated, and the region is famous for its clay products to this day. Therefore, the wedding of Artem and Anastasia was decided to be held according to Russian traditions.

Professional stylists carefully worked out the images of the newlyweds to match the concept of the wedding. This was evident both in the outfits of the young people and in the bride's bouquet, the blue ribbon of which adorned the accessory and placed the necessary accents, echoing the color of the groom's suit. This technique is now at the peak of popularity.

By all the rules of the floristic filling of the celebration, the boutonniere complemented the image of the groom, making the image whole, and was a logical continuation in the accessories of the newlyweds. It was made in the same style as the bride's bouquet and was also tied with a blue ribbon.

The groom's outfit was chosen from a bright blue material in combination with a snow-white shirt - these colors are one of the most relevant in the wedding theme due to the contrast.

All wedding accessories and souvenirs for guests were made by hand and created individually for the wedding of the newlyweds. These are plates, and seating cards, and napkins, and props for a photo shoot - everything was made in the same Gzhel style.

Candy bar was decorated with rich indigo tablecloth. The treats were served in accordance with the color scheme of the wedding - white marshmallows, ivory macaroons and blue and white cake pops.

On the eve of the wedding ceremony, the young people walked around the city and enjoyed their feelings.

The solemn ceremony was held in the open air against the backdrop of the Moscow City complex, which added a special flavor to the event.

The wedding day ended with a festive banquet. Each table had its own original name.

Serving was done in the traditional colors of Gzhel ceramics painting. She also decorated the tables. Napkin holders, candlesticks, vases - all this looked cozy, and most importantly - brought freshness to the wedding celebration!

The beginning of the banquet was sustained in the original Russian traditions. This is an abundance of dishes, a lot of cold snacks, toasts to the health and happiness of the young and, of course, fun - in Rus' they have always been able to do this!

As gifts, the guests received plates in the style of "Gzhel", in memory of the wedding of the newlyweds.

Just look at the wedding cake! How splendid he is! At the top are swans. In Rus', this bird was revered, and this symbol meant nobility and become.

The highlight of the holiday was the moment of throwing the bride's bouquet and garter. Instead of a garter, the groom threw one of his most valuable things - the scarf of his favorite football team "Malaga".

According to traditions, the young people cut the cake together - as a sign of consent in everyday life in married life!

The celebration was crowned with the launch of luminous balloons. And here everything was thought out based on the general style of the celebration - white balloons against the background of a dark blue sky looked truly romantic! Bitterly!

There are an endless number of styles for weddings. Recently, styles referring to traditional Russian art are gaining popularity in Russia. Including a kind of squeak of recent years, weddings in the Gzhel style can be considered. At first glance, it may seem that this is a very dubious choice, but in fact, it turns out very interesting.

And the reason for this is this. The combination of white and azure looks great, it is no coincidence that our ancestors liked it so much that they began to make traditional ceramics in this color. And these are quite common colors, so it will not be difficult for your guests to find the right accessories to support the overall entourage.

Yes, and with dresses, too, everything is in perfect order. On the one hand, there are already quite a few manufacturers on the market who make white dresses with large blue embroidery specifically for a Gzhel-style wedding.

On the other hand, you do not have to completely repeat the style itself, it is enough to match it in scale. Moreover, there are many more ways where these motives can be emphasized.

Of course, the first thing that suggests itself is thematic dishes on the tables. You can limit yourself to only plates, but you can find everything else, up to cutlery (usually inserts are made on the handles). Nameplates are also designed in this style.

In addition, the entire hall is decorated in the desired range, you can find the same tablecloths. It is better to choose a white car for this case, you can even paint it with patterns using water-soluble children's paints (then just wash it off at a car wash).

A wedding in the Gzhel style is a newfangled trend, and I am also surprised by the craze for this theme in the West, although there it is just “blue and white patterns”. Be that as it may, the Gzhel wedding is quickly gaining popularity among our brides and decorators. All because their own, dear!

Let's move on from theory to practice 🙂 Wonderful Maria Bobneva (MaryWed wedding workshop) will tell you in detail about the preparation and conduct of a wedding in Gzhel style.

“Good day, dear readers!

Let's talk about one of the most interesting and relevant topics - a wedding in a certain style.

It is so wonderful that now more and more brides are moving away from the classics, from clichés and stereotypes. And those couples who still adhere to the classical style endow it with a modern reading.

On my account (as a wedding organizer) there were both themed weddings and weddings designed only in the same colors, without a pronounced theme. But the topic that I want to tell you about in this story deserves a separate discussion.

The beautiful couple Irisha and Artyom, whom we met on February 23, already at the first meeting said that they would have a wedding. And these words became golden for me, because I really wanted to organize a wedding with a wedding. This is a tremendous mystery that should be given more attention. Naturally, sitting at the first meeting, I already had a picture of a wedding.

The wedding is conducive to following traditions, to the disclosure of the Russian theme. At the mention of a Russian wedding, Khokhloma, bagels and gold with red (I mean the color palette) first pop up in my thoughts. the most common image. The funny thing is that we came to the style, which was eventually taken as a basis, in a completely unexpected way. We rushed from glamrock musical wedding to vintage chic…

At first they thought that the wedding could be divided into two parts - a traditional wedding and a themed banquet. As a result, after flipping through another fashion magazine and seeing that Gzhel is now in an incredible trend, it suddenly dawned on me! Why didn’t this noble style with deep blue and formal white, with its indescribable patterns, not come to mind before? And after all, the choice of this particular topic would be a wonderful continuation of a beautiful wedding.

The restaurant was also chosen appropriate, as well as, in other matters, the registry office. The children’s painting took place in the most “Russian” registry office - Izmailovsky. And the restaurant was nearby: Izmailovsky Dvor in the Vega Hotel. Its interiors are reminiscent of chambers, the unobtrusive atmosphere made it possible to conjure over the design. Everything said that with the choice of the topic, we not only made no mistake, but also hit the nail on the head!

So, on the wedding day, the bride Irisha was the most beautiful bride! When organizing, I always try not to miss small details, because I will not get tired of repeating one simple truth, which I hope you will agree with: everything global is built on small things. Therefore, not only issues of design, menu and picture as a whole, but also important details were worked out and discussed in detail.

The image of the bride at this wedding is my separate favorite topic. In the Gzhel style, we tried to withstand everything: from the bride's dress to manicure and pedicure. But at the same time, the image does not look overloaded. Irina is light, airy and happy 🙂

Then the guys went for a walk, which turned out to be very romantic and relaxed, and the guests went to a picnic I decorated.

The weather was perfect, so the idea of a picnic came in handy! Everyone was satisfied: no one pulled the young people, and they spent several hours in a calm atmosphere with the photographer. And the guests, who settled down in a cozy place under the canopy of trees, were able to enjoy the warm June day and discuss the recent emotions experienced at the wedding.

And of course, I will not ignore those important little things that helped to add zest to the wedding and create a special flavor.

A table with dishes for the female half of the evening and a moonshine bar for the male:

Presidium elements:

Compliments for the guests were cute little nesting dolls. Although they are not in the colors of Gzhel, we could not pass by such charms. The guests were delighted!

And in conclusion, I want to show you our thematic seating plan! Color was added by a real button accordion, which nestled comfortably next to him.

With this material, I remind you that despite the current popularity of weddings based on films, games, or simply in the Western style, you should not forget about your native heritage. See how, due to the details, you can create the atmosphere of a Russian fairy tale. Do not be afraid to invent, develop and fill your thoughts and dreams! Professionals will tell you how not to overdo it with details, how to fill the wedding space with the spirit of your couple.

Have a great mood and let your wedding be unique!”.

A Gzhel-style wedding can be very stylish and unusual. Such a celebration will look like the most wonderful Russian folk tale, saturated with national color and amazing traditions. A great advantage of a Gzhel-style wedding is that it will certainly be bright and original at any time of the year. The highlight of this stylized wedding is the use of an exquisite combination of floral patterns and deep blue and solemn white colors.

Wedding dresses of the newlyweds should, of course, be stylized as Russian folk craft. A festive snow-white sundress or a light, airy dress embroidered with blue threads will suit the bride. Instead of a traditional veil, you can wear a painted kokoshnik. The bride's manicure (or rather, nail design) would also be appropriate to decorate with a white and blue floral pattern. Of the accessories, white and blue beads, a bracelet or earrings are perfect, but it is still advisable to opt for one thing so as not to overdo it with details. The groom will suit a white embroidered shirt and pants tucked into stylized blue boots with curved toes.

In invitations designed in the form of painted nesting dolls or plates in the Gzhel style, you should definitely ask guests to follow the dress code, and then the holiday will become even more special and unforgettable.

An excellent place for a wedding banquet can be a Russian restaurant in a wooden design or a country estate with an open area for celebration. With the help of thoughtful details, here you can create the atmosphere of a real Russian fairy tale. The room can be decorated with stylized scarves, kokoshniks, decorative plates and cutting boards, colorful ribbons, felt boots and brooms, bundles of bagels and folk musical instruments.

The Russian feast is famous for its large scale, generous treats and endless fun. It is impossible to imagine tables without a samovar, bagels and lollipops. Holiday tables should be served with dishes, cutlery and napkins in the Gzhel style. Painted plates and cutlery, amazing sets for drinks and serving dishes will make the holiday unforgettable. The best gift for such a wedding will be in gold with a signature in gold letters "On the day of the Wedding, dear newlyweds!"

As for the entertainment program, there will be no shortage of Russian amusements. Guests will be happy to tell fortunes on chamomile, dance and endless “brooks”, braid each other’s braids, paint plates in a blue and white palette, sing ditties, play on wooden spoons, wear yokes with buckets. For a walk, you can ride a troika with bells, and in winter it’s even fun to play snowballs or go sledging down the hill.

A Gzhel-style wedding is a mischievous and unusually beautiful ethnic celebration that pays tribute to Russian traditions.
